What is form completion rate?
Form completion rate is the share of users who start a form and submit it. It isolates the form from the rest of the page.
The formula.
Form completion rate = completions / starts × 100.
A worked example.
240 completions from 600 starts is 40%.
What is a good rate?
Short forms often complete above 60%. Long forms drop fast. There is no universal number, only your own baseline and the cost of each abandoned start.
How to lift it.
Cut every field you do not need, validate inline, mark optional fields clearly, and never ask for billing info before it is required.
